PADI Sidemount and Tec Sidemount with Crystal Divers
PADI Sidemount Course
Sidemount diving is a way to assemble scuba equipment so that the cylinder(s) are rigged to the sides of a harness and separated regulator systems are used to supply gas from each cylinder. This type of configuration will reduce the vertical profile significantly, but at the same time increases the diver’s horizontal profile slightly. Cylinders can be donned in the water and later removed prior to exiting the water, eliminating the need to be walking around with heavy dive equipment on.
Two independent cylinders with different regulator systems ensuring a redundant air source in case of an emergency. Dual cylinders also will allow you for the possibility of carrying a larger gas supply on regular dives.

PADI Tec Sidemount Course
Sidemount diving is an increasingly popular way to configurate multiple cylinders for technical diving. During this course you will be able to apply what you’ve learn previously during your TecRec courses while learning a new way to configurate your gear.
Furthermore, the position of the cylinders allow sidemount divers to remove and replace the cylinders when they need to swim through confined spaces, such as swim throughs, shipwrecks, and caves with the proper training required. Combined these factors may allow you to safely extend your dive times within the recreational no decompression limits or to your max certification limit if you are tech diver.

Whether if you integrated with other TecRec courses or if you do it after, you will qualify to safety make decompression dives to the level of training you currently have. The Tec sidemount course consists on one confined session and four open water dives. You will be getting hands on training where the main goal will be getting comfortable with sidemount and progressively adding at least two more tanks, maybe even six while you keep working on:
• Equipment considerations, proper rigging and set up, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures
• Proper trim, buoyancy and propulsion
• Pre-dive checks and drills
• Team awareness and communication
• Emergency procedures such as dealing with free flows, manifold leaks and out of gas situations
